We have witnessed hundreds of thousands of Tunisian and Egyptian people putting their life in jeopardy on the streets of Tunis, Cairo Alexandria. And now also in the Yemen, Iran and Bahrain, in order to win civil rights which have been denied to them. Here in Malta we are seeing Members of Parliament declaring that they want to deny to the Maltese people a civil right which, incidentally, the same Tunisian, Egyptian and all the other peoples of the world have had for decades, if not for centuries – the right to remarry once their marriage would have ceased to exist for a number of years! Shame!
