TTN director David Pace, together with Marsascala local councillor responsible for sports Daniel Spiteri, announced that the Nursery will be offering its coaching/training services in Marsascala as from 15 March.

Presently TTN operates from two centres, Theresa Spinelli Gym in Tal-Qroqq and Immaculate Conception Sports Complex at Tarxien.

During the recent TTN Awards presentation ceremony, Spiteri praised the work being done by the TTN board mentioning also that he is optimistic about a successful Table Tennis initiative in Marsascala.

Pace then went on to announce that ‘Sala St Anna’ in Marina Street will be the base for the further expansion and development of TTN and Table Tennis in the southern part of Malta.

On the occasion Pace also presented the new TTN competition apparel which is being sponsored by St Brigit’s Family Centre and Malta Sports Online.

The highlight of the afternoon were the awards to the protagonists of the Nursery, that is the students, who are improving rapidly and advancing in the sport. Certificates were presented to all boys and girls.

Parents Easter tournament runner up Edwin Scerri winner Bernard Cassar

Parents Christmas tournament runner up Anthony Grima winner Bernard Cassar

Achievement on a national level went to Adam Zouari, Daniel Said, Michaela Scerri, Jessica Pace, Luca Balzan, Christian Degiorgio, Jurgen Sammut, Raoul Fenech, Luke Cassar, David Grima and Matthew Cassar

Most Dedicated award was presented to Gabriel Melillo, Best Technical Intermediate to Raoul Fenech, Best Technical Emerging to Sacha Pace, Best Improved Emerging to Matthew Cassar, Best Improved Intermediate to Luca Balzan.

The award for Best Conduct during competition went to Michaela Scerri and Warren Zammit.

An award for diligence was presented to TTN team captains Robert Mizzi, Dr Martin Borg and Anthony Grima.

Donic Grand Prix Beginners and Emerging runner up went to Elena Pocock and winner to Sacha Pace, Advanced and Intermediate runner up went to Jurgen Sammut and winner to Karl Wismayer.

Table Tennis Nursery will also be making a donation from part of the proceeds of the Annual Awards to Dar San Guzepp later on this month.

Meanwhile students are gearing up for the first Donic Grand Prix and also looking forward to practice with special guest player Guo Ming in a session from which much is to be accomplished.
