Jean Paul Sammut has resigned from the post of Chairman of the Malta Basketball Referees Association.

The resignation letter was handed in during a committee meeting of the Referees Association on Thursday evening. 

The reason behind his resignation from this post is that he will be contesting the election for the post of Secretary General of the Malta Basketball Association in the coming days.

The Basketball Association is holding a general meeting next week during which there will be elections for the posts of secretary general, deputy president, vice-president and treasurer.
