Maltese international table tennis player Daniel Bajada was chosen to represent the MTTA over the past days during the Italian Junior and Cadet Open that was held in Lignano Sabbiadoro.

Bajada, currently ranked world no. 373 in the Juniors Category, was drawn in Group 10 and lost his first match against Brazilian Eric Jouti 3-0. However, in his second match, he managed to beat Peruvian Raul Feijoo 3-2. In the decisive match for qualification to the next round Bajada lost 3-0 against Florian Schreiner of Germany.

In the Consolation event, the Maltese national champion lost 3-1 against Slovak Milos Regas and was thus also eliminated.

Bajada is scheduled to participate in similar events in Austria and France in April..
