In the match of the weekend, Neptunes and Sliema faced off in a balanced encounter which swayed one side and the other on several occasions. Neptunes took an early lead but Sliema raced to a 6-2 lead midway through the first session courtesy of Rizzo and Soler. However Neptunes were not to be deterred and scored four goals without reply through Mizzi and Stellini to even out matters at 6-6 midway through the match.

The third session was a balanced affair ending 2-2 to set up a final session balanced on a knife edge. Neptunes thought they had won it through a Niki Lanzon goal but James Spiteri Staines equalised in the dying seconds for Sliema to draw the encounter.

In the first two sessions, Sirens emphasized their superiority winning both 3-0 and 2-1 respectively. David Cutajar managed to score three with Zammit and Borg scoring the other two with San Giljan’s only goal arriving courtesy of Paul Fava.

The third session saw a mini comeback for San Giljan with Gialanze netting both of the goals. The final session saw San Giljan coming to just one goal of deficit but two goals in the final minutes from Mark Grech sealed the encounter for Sirens.

In the final match which was not valid for points, the ASA U/17 selection registered a somewhat easy victory over Marsaskala. The first two sessions went the ASA boys way 3-2 and 4-2 with Dino Zammit notching three goals whilst Spiteri Debarro and Micallef grabbed a brace each for the Southseasiders.

The third session was another romp for the ASA youngsters who won 5-2 with Zammit grabbing more goals alongside Diego Borg who managed a brace. In a high scoring final session, the ASA side continued proving their dominance scoring more goals through Zammit, Caruana and Portelli to register a comfortable victory.
