England coach Fabio Capello says he is considering making John Terry captain again.
Terry was stripped of the captaincy in February 2010 after allegations he had an affair with teammate Wayne Bridge’s former girlfriend. The rift led to Bridge quitting international football.
But injuries have restricted Rio Ferdinand to just four England games since replacing Terry as captain.
Capello now wants to know the extent of his fitness problem. And the Italian coach says “after that I will explain to him what really happened and what I am going to do in the next week, if I will decide on a new captain or about John Terry or something else.”
England play against Wales in a 2012 European Championship qualifier on 26 March. Terry is also captain of London club Chelsea.
