Maltese footballer Luke Farrugia, 21, has been gailed two years after he admitted at the Reading High Court that he had sex with a 12-year-old, though another under age girl was also involved in the same incident.

According to a report published last week in The Reading Chronicle, Farrugia and five other youngsters, ex-Reading FC academy footballers, “all admitted rape of a girl under the age of 13.”

The other offenders named were Jahson Downes and Ashley Charles, both 20, Courtney Amos, 19, Dennis De Sousa, 18, and Jahvon Edwards, 19.

The same report added that one of the girls was raped by five men, the other raped by one on the night of Saturday, 21 February last year, at a recreation ground in Reading's George Street. It also said all six handed themselves in and made full confessions.

Farrugia, whose parents live in Barnwood Close, West Reading, played for Reading Town.
