MSSF Trap shooter Jeffery Tonna finished in a remarkable eighth place in the Trap competition at the ISSF World Cup in Sydney.
Jeffery managed 24, 24, 21, 24 and a straight of 25/25 for a total of 118/125. He was only one clay short of finishing in the barrage finals top six among 74 shooters from all around the world. Fernandez Alberto from Spain won the Gold Medal with 120+23=143 after a shoot off with Vigano Rodolfo from Italy who won Silver.
Ruettgeroth Stefan from Germany won bronze with a score of 142, while Alipov Alexy from Russia placed fourth with 141. Diamond Michael from Australia placed fifth with 138 while Manuel Bruno Faria from Portugal placed 6th, also with138.
David Kostelcky from the Czech Rep. was seventh on 119, just one clay ahead of Tonna.
The other Maltese shooters who took part in the event were Rennie Deguara and James Galea.
Deguara managed a score of 107 while Galea registered a score of 97.
