Neptunes Emirates 10
Exiles Jet Services 10
(4-3), (3-2), (3-3), (0-2)
In a thrilling encounter, Exiles Jet Services showed they were a force to be reckoned with in this season’s Winter League when they managed to draw against title contenders Neptunes Emirates 10-10.
This was Neptunes’ second draw of the season after their point against Sliema with Sirens now well positioned in the leading standings with two victories from two matches.
Neptunes began quite strong in the first session racing to a 2-0 lead through Lanzon and Gravina (the former scored six goals throughout the match) before being pegged back to 3-2 by Exiles especially with Julian Rizzo Naudi on top form.
However Neptunes then recovered to make it 4-3 at the end of the first period. The Balluta Bay boys also shaded the second session 3-2 to go in the halfway point two goals up.
The third session was a balanced affair ending 3-3 but the final session saw Rizzo Naudi again scoring twice to grab a precious point for Sliema’s second team.
