Swimming is an ideal sport activity for all the family and even now, it is not too late to join the swimming activity organised by KMS Skolasport for the rest of the scholastic term.
Organised by Kunsill Malti għall-iSport and sponsored by Kellogg’s, KMS Skolasport, is accepting registrations for swimming lessons held in the heated National Pool within the KMS Tal-Qroqq Sports Complex.
Swimming is a cost-effective fitness exercise that has a wide range of both physical and psychological benefits. It is a great form of exercise, reason being that the pressure and resistance of the water makes one’s body work harder.
Apart from burning calories, swimming is great for toning up as it works on all the muscles of the body. This low-impact exercise is ideal for pregnant women, people with mobility problems and seniors. The fact that all the family members can engage together in Skolasport lessons helps relieve tension and stress, while reinforcing family bonds.
Open for all age groups and abilities, the one hour sessions are held every Saturday till May, between 9am and 12.00 noon with Renzo Galea as the KMS Skolasport coordinator. The philosophy adopted by Skolasport is to teach swimming for leisure.
This basically means teaching the participants how to enjoy and become more familiar with the aquatic environment. The lessons are being offered at a discounted rate of €30 that covers all the lessons till the end of May.
As promoters of good nutrition and physical exercise for a healthy well-being, Kellogg’s invests in KMS Skolasport and its endeavours by encouraging not only children but also adults to become active and live a healthier lifestyle by choosing and practising their favourite sport.
