Pegasus Riding Club, under the auspices of the Malta Equestrian Federation, organised Dressage and Show Jumping Ranking events which saw a large number of riders taking part in both disciplines.
Dressage
A total of 27 riders took part in various levels, starting from Pre-Preliminary going up to Medium Class. The Preliminary Class saw the largest number of competitors, vying for the top four posts in this Class. These competitions are widely regarded as training grounds for possible participation in the World Dressage Challenge which is held in December.
Sig. Ugo Volpe, an Italian FEI judge, was brought over to Malta by the Pegasus Riding Club, to judge this event. Sig. Volpe commented on the improving standard of Maltese riders and their dedication and commitment showed in the quality of their tests.
Show Jumping
30 riders took part in various classes, starting from 50cm going up to 1metre. A number of jump-offs, required when riders obtain equal points in any round, were required for most of the classes, making the competition even more exciting for both riders and the large audience that was present to watch the proceedings.
