The relegation issue - only one club is to be relegated this season – may be settled this evening after the match between Hibernians and Vittoriosa Stars.
If Vittoriosa Stars fail to beat Hibernians, they will be mathematically sure of being relegated to next year’s first division. Even a draw will not suffice for them to keep their slim hopes alive.
At present, they have just six points, eight below third placed Qormi with just three matches remaining to be played. Sliema and Qormi are already sure of retaining their Premier League status for next season. They both have 17 points.
The match, at the Hibs Ground, kicks off at 7.30pm.
Two third division matches are also being played today at the Centenary Stadium, as follows: 6pm Marsa-Ghaxaq; 8pm Kirkop-Pembroke Athleta.
