This year’s San Michel team tournament at VLTC which started in January is expected to come to an end about the middle of next month.

The tournament, sponsored by Simonds Farsons Cisk plc. through San Michel Table Water is being played on a round robin basis amongst six teams. A substantial number of players are taking part in this year’s event. This response is considered as a recognition of San Michel’s constant contribution towards the development of the game in Malta.

After seven Saturdays of enjoyable tennis, Jonathan Camilleri’s team F led the pack with 46 points. The standings of the six teams were: Team A (Diane D’Alessandro) 39 points; Team B (Christine Scerri) 31 points; Team C (Vincent Vassallo) 42 points; Team D (Carmen Difesa) 37 points; Team E (Rinaldo D’Alessandro) 39 points; Team F (Jonathan Camilleri) 46 points.

In the semi-finals a very tight race is anticipated among the first four teams who will be playing on a knock out basis. The final will be played on VLTC’s Atlas Insurance Centre court.
