I am writing this e-mail, with reference to my permit Ref No. A/6/3/2 Vol 17 and in connection with Bye Laws K.L.B.L. 37/2/2009. This permit allows me with 14 other campers to camp in the area of l-Ahrax tal-Mellieha.
However, due to the hunting season being opened from 13 to 30 April, this permit is no longer valid. Did anyone inform me about this? No. Was I given another camping option? No. Why weren’t we at least given an option, like last November, to camp on the other side of the road? As an EU citizen, in my name as a parent and in the names of the other parents, I would like to ask: Where can I go camping with my children?
We chose these days because they are the only days children have holidays during the Easter period. We have already been denied barbeques on the sand, and now camping? Give us another option as to what a family can do together.
If a permit has been revoked, at least give an alternative camping site if also one doesn’t even have the decency to call and inform me.
And please do not tell me to go to the campsite... that is a joke! Have you seen camping sites abroad? Definitely not like the one in Malta. I have called so many local councils for an alternative but it seems that most of them live on another planet.
These kind of things happen… ONLY IN MALTA!
So once again, what and where are my rights as an EU citizen?
