Gudja had an easy task against Siggiewi who lacked ideas and were erratic in their finishing.
Following this result Siggiewi are in fourth position on 14 points from 10 games while Gudja are in fifth position on 10 points also from 10 games.
Siggiewi created the first two actions. Jason Schembri served Benjamin Azzopardi in the area but he drove over the bar and Nicolai Scicluna was fouled outside the area and Gudja keeper Kurt Baldacchino turned the ball to a corner from the free kick by the same player.
Gudja reacted but never came near to scoring.
In another action by Siggiewi, Scicluna served Benjamin Azzopardi in the area but he missed the upright by inches with a good shot.
In the 24th minute Gudja forged ahead when Debattista was fouled outside the area and Portelli scored with a hard rising shot past a helpless Siggiewi keeper Leon Degiorgio.
The score became 2-0 in the 31st minute as Portelli dribbled past an opponent outside the area and served Grech in the area who netted with a low shot.
In the 33rd minute Siggiewi were denied by the woodwork from a free kick by Tyrone Debono with Baldacchino completely beaten and, just before the break, Debono served Schembri with a through ball on the left edge of the area but he missed the bar with a lobbed ball.
Gudja started the second half on the attack but it was Siggiewi who went close first when Alister Sammut was foiled by goalie Baldacchino who dived at his feet and smothered the ball. Later, Adrian Vella served Sammut in the area but he drove out from an ideal position.
Gudja scored a third goal in the 57th minute when Debattista dribbled past two opponents outside the area and, after entering the area, he scored with a hard grounder.
Siggiewi then won a free kick on the left edge of the area after a foul on Debono and from the same player’s free kick Baldacchino saved the ball to a corner.
In the 64th minute Siggiewi were reduced to ten men as Dorian Azzopardi was shown a second yellow card for a foul on Debattista.
The score became 4-0 in the 74th minute. Debattista dribbled past an opponent on the right flank. He then served Portelli with a cross, the ball was cleared to a corner from the latter’s shot from outside the area and after the flag kick by Debattista, Portelli scored with a low shot from inside the area.
Two minutes before the end, Portelli scored the fifth goal when he pounced on a loose ball from a faulty clearance and scored with a lobbed ball from outside the area.
