After a rather quiet start the game suddenly sprung into life with Young Stars taking the lead in the 10th minute through Joseph Dalli.

After winning a short corner in the 15th minute, Young Stars scored again through Mark Camilleri with a copy book hit from the top of the D.  

This stung Qormi into action although they did not benefit from three short corners, won in quick succession around the 23rd minute.   

After the Young Stars keeper saved at full length diving to his right, Young Stars won a short corner in the 28th minute and Mark Camilleri produced an exact replica of his previous effort to put his team into a three nil lead.

The second half saw Qormi increase their endeavours and although they spent most of the half on the attack winning seven short corners, they only managed to reduce the arrears in the 47th minute through a well-taken goal scored by Jonathan Borg while missing a number of chances on the way.  

In the long run the score might have been flattering but Young Stars deserved their victory in the end due to their organised collective effort.
