Yesterday’s semifinal match between Zejtun and Naxxar Lions was a hard fought match and that is understandable, but the incident which brought the match to be abandoned is not a scene anybody likes to see on a football pitch.

Zejtun were leading 1-0 on the 90th minute with Naxxar not giving up but three minutes in injury time Zejtun scored again. Immediately there were protests from the Naxxar side and seemingly an unnamed Naxxar official attacked the referee who had no other choice other than to abandon the match.
