Double Trap shooter William Chetcuti (right), has been approved by the Maltese Olympic Committee as its local and foreign ambassador.

The decision was taken by the Executive Committee of the MOC during its meeting on Thursday, on the basis of his continuous development in local sport particularly his gold medal win at the Beijing World Cup last Sunday.

Since 2001, Chetcuti, thanks to the help of the MOC and Olympic Solidarity within the International Olympic Committee, has become the athlete with the best ever results in an Olympic sport discipline.

The MOC said that his successes were, without any doubt, an inspiration to all other athletes with the Maltese Olympic Committee.
