The national championship, organised by the Malta Minimoto Amateurs Club), got under way last Sunday at Hal-Far. Two heats were organised in connexion with the championship while an open race was also held. Gabriel Spiteri and Dylan Cauchi were involved in an interesting battle for the top places. It was Cauchi who eventually won the two heats. Glenn Schembri was third. In the Open race, all the other drivers took part. Liam Cauchi finished first, Dion Farrugia second and Shannon Cauchi third. The Malta Minimoto Club thanked everyone, especially the Island Karting Club which helped in the organisation as well as providing the track for the races.
