The Table Tennis Nursery recently organised a Parent – Student doubles tournament. The event was a first of its kind in Malta and proved to be very popular as there were no less than 20entries.

Seasoned student players teamed up either with their mother or father to compete with other parents and students in a round robin tournament which eventually led to a final in which Bernard Cassar and Matthew Cassar overcame the runners up, Edwin Scerri and daughter Michaela.

Prior to this event, TTN held the 2nd Donic Grand Prix for the season which brought together its students from the Msida, Tarxien and Marsascala Centres.

In the Beginners level we saw Haley Bartolo placing firstt and Krista Spiteri Lucas second.

In the Emerging level Andrea Mugliett placed first and Daneel Abela second.

In Intermediate and Advanced, Adam Zouari placed firstt and Luca Balzan second.

Recently at the 4th Junior National Ranking Tournament U-15, TTN player Karl Wismayer worked his way up to the final where he then obtained a 3-1 victory over Andrea Portelli. Another TTN player, Adam Zouari, also succeeded in reaching the final of the 5th MTTA seniors ranking plate event. He was defeated 3-2 by Daniel Portelli in a close encounter where a high standard was witnessed.

Table Tennis Nursery has moved into the second coaching/training term where, together with all collaborators, it remains committed in guiding youngsters to play the elite way. Due to the strategically spread out centres, access to professional coaching is at hand for those interested.
