Local giants Sliema McDonalds and Neptunes Emirates will be facing each other this afternoon in what promises to be an exciting semifinal clash.

The other semifinal, to follow immediately after the first clash, will be that between Sirens Ritter Sport and San Giljan Firetech.

It should be an exciting afternoon at the Tal-Qroqq Pool where the four teams will be battling it out for a place in the final which, this year, will be played on a best of three play-offs.

The match of the day will certainly be the clash of the giants. A Sliema-Neptunes clash is always a major attraction whether it is in the Winter or in the Summer League.

And today’s match makes no difference at all as a large crowd is expected to fill the terraces to watch this important match.

In fact, the winners could be considered as favourites to win the first major honour of the year in the play-off against Sirens or San Giljan.

The latter two teams are also expected to figure in a close game – a place in the final will be considered a big boost for winners of this tie.
