Davina Mangion represented Sirens Amateur Swimming Association at a Swim Seminar organised by LEN - European Aquatics, Semmelweis University, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, last month.
LEN is the overall governing body for swimming and aquatics in Europe which incorporates 51 European Swimming Federations. It is overseen by an elected Bureau composed of members, representing 17 different countries.
The seminar was held in Budapest. It was attended by 200 swimming officials from around the world.
Renowned lecturers in the areas of swimming from all over the world contributed to this seminar, among whom were Dr Janos Egressy, Dr Akos Toth, Dr Csaba Sos (Hungary), Jon Glenn (UK), Nicole Hoogwerf (Holland), Nikolai Nordsborg (Denmark) and Boro Stumbelj (Slovenia).
Part of the funds collected from last season’s swim marathon helped in financing the costs of this seminar. Eight new starting blocks were also purchased from the money collected. These blocks will be used this coming summer season.
