Barking Dogs

Malta Independent Thursday, 12 May 2011, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Over the past four weeks I have called the animal welfare four times and at last they came out to see four Yorkshire terriers that I reported about which are left on a roof 24 hours a day. They have no food or water and are left in the sun, wind and rain. As one can imagine they hardly see people unless when the owner decides to feed them, which is when they go absolutely ballistic and the noise is really unbearable.

They bark 24 hours a day and now it’s beyond a joke. I never got an answer back from animal welfare of what will be done and was told to make a police report. On Sunday 24th April 12:20am I called Msida Police Station to report a “disturbance to the peace” about these dogs. I was told that they cannot do much, but if it was blaring music then they would take action.

Right so it’s ok to leave four dogs howling on a roof?

I need my sleep like every other human being - howling and whimpering after 11pm gets a bit too much.  Can anyone answer this letter please as to what action will be taken? I cannot fathom out why nobody can do anything about this situation.
