Sliema McDonalds may be declared champions of the Waterpolo Bank of Valletta Winter League this evening when they play Sirens Ritter Sport.

The meeting is the second between the two teams within as many days in the Play-off final, featuring the best out of three matches.

After their easy victory with a 12-4 scoreline and a superior performance on Wednesday, Sliema are favourites to beat Sirens again today and wrap up the Winter title.

Sirens were erratic in defence in the first match and allowed their opponents to exploit these deficiences. Sliema’s John Soler scored no less than four goals as they were also buoyed by the presence of Romanian player Bogdan Rath.

This is the last chance for Sirens to pull back the deficit and force a third match with Sliema next Sunday.

Before this match, San Giljan Firetech and Neptunes Emirates play each other for 3/4 place in the standings.
