SmartCity Appoints Malta Country Director

Paolo Serra has been appointed Country Director of SmartCity Malta effective 1 June.

Italian-born Paolo Serra has over 14 years of managerial experience, with over 10 years in the Gulf handling complex projects in the IT, real estate and construction sectors.

Prior to his current position as Country Director of SmartCity Malta, Serra has worked across diversified business clusters of TECOM Investments.

Mr Serra has extensive work experience in sales and marketing, advertising and venue management. His achievements include the successful implementation of operational best practices, the new CRM methodologies and enhancement of the overall customer experience. He is also a specialist in business process reengineering and was responsible for the development of new real estate and non-real estate revenue generating products and services in Dubai.

On his appointment as Country Director at SmartCity Malta Mr Serra said, “I am looking forward to this new challenge and will be re-locating to Malta to take up my new responsibilities. My experience in the Gulf region and Europe will surely be an added asset to the good work which has been done, which will ultimately lead to the success of this project.”

He has overseen the development of the Dubai Outsource Zone (DOZ), the world’s first business park dedicated to the outsourcing industry and part of TECOM Investments’ portfolio. He has been very instrumental in implementing some of the most critically acclaimed projects at DOZ.
