Dr Anna Vella, while taking part in the first referendum debate, said that she wants her daughter to grow with the idea, that marriage lasts “till death us do part“. The vast majority of people who marry would wish their marriage to last “till death us do part”. I am sure that her daughter would want this too, and would do all in her power so her marriage succeeds. The problem with marriages is that “it takes two to tango“.

Can Dr Anna Vella – or any other parent who intends to vote ‘No’ in the referendum – guarantee that none of the marriages of their children, or grandchildren, will EVER fail ?

Would Dr Vella or any other parent, want to deny their children or grandchildren, the chance of finding happiness once again in a new relationship based on marriage, which would give them serenity and stability which marriage can offer? Or would they prefer them to live the rest of their lives on their own – or cohabit – if their marriage doesn’t work out?

Dr Vella has convinced me that it is her Moviment Żwieġ Bla Divorzju which is “bla raġuni“ not the responsible divorce Bill presented by Evarist Bartolo and Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando.
