Patrick Curmi has been appointed Birkirkara coach for the next two seasons.

This was announced in a statement issued by Birkikara FC yesterday afternoon. The decision came two days after the Birkirkara FC committee dismissed former coach Paul Zammit.

In his two-year reign with the Stripes Pual Zammit was instrumental in the winning of the Premier League last year. However Birkirkara did not live up to their expectations this season finishing third in a low profile season.

Patrick Curmi thus leaves Marsaxlokk with whom he won the First Division Championship in season 2009-10, and finishing in the Championship Pool this season.

Patrick Curmi formerly coached Marsa, Pieta Hotspur and Msida SJ. His new immediate challenges will be Birkirkara’s partecipation in the Euro Cup and the First Preliminary Round of the Europa League.
