I refer to the Bishops’ pastoral letter on divorce, which says that voting for divorce will, among others, lead to “the destruction of values”. Which values are the bishops referring to – the value, perhaps, of calling “traitors” those who hold a different view, as the Bishop of Gozo did? That kind of view is prompted by the values of an extremist, of an intellectual terrorist. The Church is continually failing its followers, even in the kind of “shepherd” it appoints as bishop.
