Buttigieg Names 24-man squad for 6 June match against Greece

National coach John Buttigieg and his technical staff have named a 24-man squad for the away European Championship qualifier against Greece.

The game is to be played on 6 June at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus, Athens, kicking off at 8.30pm.

Buttigieg dropped only one player from his squad which was on duty for the match against Greece last March. Then Malta lost 0-1 to a Torosidis goal in added injury time.

Carlo Mamo of Marsaxlokk has been left out of the squad this time, but he has added goalkeeper Reuben Gauci of Marsaxlokk, Valletta defender Steve Borg, Floriana midfielder Christian Caruana and strikers Ivan Woods (Floriana), Birkirkara’s Trevor Cilia and Sliema’s John Mintoff to join the squad.
