The Armed Forces, after beating Air Malta in the semi final, won the final against the strong Freeport team 6-3 in an interesting game that was decided in the second half.
The first half was a balanced affair, but in the second half the Armed Forces were a little better and scored the all important goals.
In the semi final Freeport beat Education, last year’s winners.
Darts: Social Services
win teams competition
The Department of Social Services won the Darts Teams competition played at the Juventutis Domus in Zejtun.
In a keenly contested competition, each team registered one win and the winners were decided on the individual games won.
Social Services won 10 and lost eight, Civil Protection Dept who came second won nine and lost nine and in third place Govt. Property Dept. - they won eight and lost 10.
Pool: Armed Forces win teams competition again
As they did in the football knock out competition, the Armed Forces won the Pool Teams Competition played at the Malta Pool Association Hall at De La Salle College, Cottonera. Mario Brincat, Mario Cutajar and Robert Zammit played for the winning team that beat the CCF 8-5 in the final (Clint Azzopardi, Noel Camilleri and Peter Vella). In third place were the Customs Dept. with Raymond Caruana, Philip Attard and Carmelo Mifsud.
