Dances And Tangos

Dances and Tangos is the theme of the forthcoming event at Sagrestia Vault at the Valletta Waterfront. The concert is going to feature passionate music for piano and accordion. The performers are going to be the Maltese Charlene Farrugia and the international accordionist Franko Božac who are going to perform sparkling music full of emotion. The duo will be making their first concert appearance as a duo in Malta at this concert. The piano and accordion concert is going to be held on Friday 10 June at 8pm.

The concert entitled Dances and Tangos features various dances from the classical music spectrum. The duo Farrugia- Božac will be performing Johann S. Bach’s Siciliano, Johannes Brahms’s famous Hungarian Dances nos. 1,3,5, Camille Saint-Saens’ Finale from Duos for Harmonium and Piano. They will also be performing Dvorak’s Slavonic Dances op. 72 nos. 1-3 and Lecuona’s passionate Malaguena.

The second part of the programme will be totally dedicated to Astor Piazzolla and his colourful tangos, namely, Tango Suite, Adios Nonino, Violen Tango and Malonga del Angel. The programme will end with Galliano’s Honey Fingers.

Dances and Tangos is being organized by Barocco Cultural Events with the kind support of Bank of Valletta, Olimpus Music and Phoenicia Hotel.
