I have to thank all the people of Malta who cast a ‘Yes’ vote in the referendum. There are many people in Malta who deserve a second chance, and it is not only adults.

While some may think that people want a divorce for convenience sake, then they are wrong. Some just want peace after years of sorrow. Others want to have a second chance at happiness and at life. The best thing to come out of this referendum campaign is that the people of Malta took a decision out of compassion to others, at the same time keeping the rationale of freedom of choice and ability to think for oneself.

Many families will now look forward to the legislation being enacted in good speed. Many people have been waiting for this right for years.
