The next edition of the Games – the 15th – is to be held in Luxembourg between 27 May and 1 June 2013.
This was confirmed yesterday during the Congress of the Games for European Small States Federation.
The opening and closing ceremonies are to be held at the Stade Josy Barthel in the Grand Duchy.
The disciplines which will be contested will be basketball, table-tennis, swimming, cycling, athletics, gymnastics, tennis, shooting – air pistol, skeet, trap and double trap – judo and volleyball (including beach volley).
For basketball, gymnastics and shooting (clay pigeon) it will be a welcome return to the satisfaction of many of the participating countries, including Malta, after Liechtenstein decided against holding these events this year.
Montenegro, the ninth member to join the GSSE Federation two years ago, will be taking part with a full delegation for the first time in Luxembourg, after restricting their participation at these Games in Liechtenstein to just 35 athletes.
