Maltese girls Alison Borg and Gertrude Zarb played superbly all the way to beat Monaco 2-1 in a sort of decider for second place in their group yesterday.

It was a fantastic performance by the two girls who now will be meeting home side Liechtenstein in the semifinals.

It is going to be a very tough tie, but the two girls have earned the respect of everyone here and have shown that they are well and truly competitive.

In their earlier matches, they had beaten Andorra 2-0 and then lost honourably to Luxembourg 2-0.
