The Malta Stock Exchange Index shed just under one point yesterday, or less than 0.1 per cent, to end the week at 3,377.710. Trading was mixed as three of the nine equities to trade in the session closed higher, two finished lower while four remained unchanged.
Ending lower was the stock of Bank of Valletta plc, which dropped 3c, or 1.1 per cent, to end at €2.740 in eleven deals for a total of 15,318 shares.
Also lower was HSBC Bank Malta plc, which shed 1c, or 0.3 per cent, in a single deal of 100 shares.
Also in the banking sector, FIMBank plc closed unchanged at €0.800 in a single deal of 9,000 shares.
Closing in positive territory, meanwhile, was the stock of the local telecommunications provider, GO plc. GO’s shares added 0c9, or 0.7 per cent, to end at €1.379 in five deals for a total of 4,060 shares.
Also higher were the shares of International Hotel Investments plc, which added 1c, or 1.2 per cent, to end the session at €0.830 in a single deal of 1,200 shares.
Putting in the day’s best performance was the stock of Malta International Airport plc, which gained 3c, or 1.8 per cent, to finish at €1.730 on volume of 7,800 shares across five trades.
Finishing unchanged were the shares of Grand Harbour Marina plc, which ended at €1.980 in two deals for a total of 4,710 shares.
Also closing unchanged was the stock of MaltaPost plc, which registered a final trading price of €1.020 in a single trade of 664 shares.
Finally, the equity of RS2 Software plc rounded out trading unchanged at €0.499 in a single trade of 1,000 shares.
Just five issues managed to witness trading action in the corporate bond market on Friday while just a single bond registered a change in its closing price. Volume remained weak with just €95,805 nominal across twelve deals taking place. The 7.15% Mediterranean Investments Holding plc Euro 2015-2017 bond managed to add €3.00, or 3.9 per cent, to end at €80.000 in four deals for a total of €11,900 nominal.
