The second MPA event was held at St Paul’s Bay.It was one in a series of four events for all enthusiasts of Powerboat racing on a national level.

The first day was full of trials and practice together with safety and drivers’ briefing for all classes of boats while the second day was reserved for the excitement and thrills in eight races in the various classes of boats. Both days were characterised by the good sea conditions and the numerous number of spectators that could be seen on the Bugibba seafront, most especially on the Bugibba jetty which was the wet pits area.

The event was held with the kind help of Angelo’s Two Bar and Restaurant, the main event sponsor together with St Paul’s Bay Local Council amongst other help from various contributors without which such events cannot be held.

Francis Cachia Caruana, MPA Treasurer and RYA race organizer, said: “This event was an exceptional success for everyone involved. The MPA attracted a lot of interest after our March event, which meant that more competitors took part. We were pleased to have participants from Gozo as well. The Cybers put on a great display of their skills as did every other participant and the committee is extremely proud of all of them as they truly waved the national flag for Malta and Gozo in regards to powerboat racing in Malta.“
