So, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi told his MPs there had been an “administrative error” which led to the anomalous, abnormal and inconsistent way the raises were granted.

I would like to ask: Who was it that made the administrative error in granting upwards of €500 (dis)honoraria increase per week to the MPs backdated to 2008?

Is this administrative error going to be rectified and the amount which has been granted reduced?

And a third question: Did the person that made the mistake in further fattening the politicians’ wallets with public money perhaps make another “administrative error” when he insulted the general population by granting us a measly €1.16 increase per week payable from January 2011?

PN MP Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando was so right when he stated: “What is interesting is that there are some people who are pricked by their conscience only when they discuss divorce.”

However, when the same MPs discuss the issue of lining their pockets with the voting public’s money, their conscience seems to disappear.

Lawrence’s and his cohorts’ “use by date” has long expired and they are now choking the whole island with “smoke without fire”.

If the PN is to regain some of its credibility and wants to have a fighting chance at the polls in two years’ time, Gonzi and co. should be sent packing into political oblivion. We are sick and tired of GonziPN’s mismanagement, greed, “smoke without fire” investigations and their blatant arrogance. It is high time that the PN removes the Gonzi prefix and becomes the NewPN.
