Waterpolo – BoV National league - Sirens make their debut today against Exiles

Malta Independent Sunday, 12 June 2011, 00:00 Last update: about 15 years ago

The Bank of Valletta national league continues today with another two matches at the Tal-Qroqq Pool.

In the opening clash, Valletta will be facing Neptunes while in the match that follows, St Paul’s Bay side Sirens take on Exiles.

Valletta, returning to the local scene after a large number of years, have made a very positive start winning their opening two encounters in the past few days.

It was a very enthusiastic start for this once mighty club, but they are certainly aware of the huge task facing them this evening when facing Neptunes, one of the two local giants and joint favourites with Sliema for this year’s title.

Neptunes have played one match and won it comfortably. After all, that is what they are expected to do today to join the citizens at the top of Group A but with a match in hand.

In the other match, Sirens will be making their debut in this year’s league. They are the only team not to have played any match so far and they are expected to face a tough time to win the three points against Exiles.
