Experienced Serbian striker Miodrag Andelkovic has signed for champions Valletta FC.

He will be one of the most experienced players to grace the Maltese Premier League, having been on the books of at least 20 clubs in his professional career.

Andelkovic, 33, has played in several countries around the world, starting his career in with Serbian club OFK Beograd in season 1995-96. He also had other spells at this club in 1999-2000, 2002, 2003-2004 and 2007.

He then played for Espanyol and Almeria in Spain, Greuther Furth in Germany, Hapoel Petah Tikva of Israel, Sartid Smederevo, Antalyaspor of Turkey, Fluminense and Curitiba of Brazil, Widzew Lodz of Poland, Incheon United and Cerezo Osaka of Japan, Irtysh Pavlodar, Metalurg Zaporizhya, Al-Ahli Jeddah, Dalian Shide, Yantai Tieng, Pandurii Targu Jiu, International Curtea de Arges of Romania and Brantford Galaxy of Canada, his last club before coming to Malta.

According to his profile, his best performances were registered at Beograd in 1999-2000 where he made 27 appearances scoring 11 goals and a year later at Sartid Smederevo, where he scored seven goals in 10 appearances. At Brantford Galaxy last season, he scored six goals in 10 appearances.

As a youngster he started his football at the FK Trepca Kosovska Mitrovica youth nursery.

Andelkovic is expected to make his first appearance for Valletta on Friday during the Euro Cup opener against Floriana at the Hibs Ground.

Valletta had already signed former Msida striker Ousseni Zongo of Burkina Faso, while a Brazilian, Barbosa da Silva, is expected to start a trial with the club today.
