On Friday Tarxien Rainbows F.C. signed goalkeeper Nicholas Vella on a three year contract.

A product of San Ġwann F.C. Youth Nursery, Nicholas was born on 27 August, 1989. He made his debut with the National team in November 2007 in the European Under 19 Championship against Croatia with the latter winning the match 3-0.

In 2008, Vella joined Valletta F.C., in the last season he appeared twice, substituting Andrew Hogg against Qormi in December and playing from the first minute against the same Tarxien in January.

Nicholas also forms part of the National Under 21 team.
