After the end of the preliminary round, the play-offs are scheduled between today and towmorrow to determine the positions in Divison 1 and Division 2 of the summer Waterpolo league.

These new regulations as from this season, will pit Neptunes against Sliema (today) as well as Sirena against San Giljan. These four teams are assured of a place in Division 1 but the winner between Neptunes and Sliema will start with five points and the loser with three.

Likewise, the winners between San Giljan and Sirens will start with two points and the loser with one.

As expected, Neptunes and Sliema have won all their matches in the Preliminary Round and will start as firm favourites for the title.

Exiles and Marsascala will play it out between them for the other place in Division 1 after finishing third in their respective groups.

The losers will play in Division 2 and will be joined by Valletta , Otters and Ta’ Xbiex.
