Exiles took their place among the top five, as they start with no points alongside the other four teams in the 1st division.

Marsaskala were a competitive lot till the halfway mark, when they held a double lead in the opening session, and a goal in the last second, just before the interval buzzer, put them in front, at 5-4.

For the remainder of the game Marsaskala were a disappointing outfit, when they were completely overwhelmed by the sprightly Exiles side, who rammed in no less than nine goals in the third quarter, to put the match beyond Marsaskala’s reach.

The losers grabbed a couple of goals, after Otis Zammit was ousted out of the water, but the writing had been on the wall for quite a while. Marsaskala had Joe Cremona missing for this game.

Both teams had the same difficulty in their expulsions, when either of them could only score on three occasions from a total of nine man ups.

Exiles had Marco Cuk with a handful of goals, and Karl Rizzo Naudi managed a poker of strikes. Marsaskala’s foreign brothers, Milos and Mihailo Koralji, both put in a brace of goals.

Marsaskala will now top the second tier of play, with four points.
