World champion in high-jump Blanka Vlasic of Croatia was presented with the trophy as European Sportswoman of the Year 2010 by Charles Camenzuli, Secretary General of the Union Europenne de la Presse Sportive and Life General Secretary of AIPS during the High Jump meeting held in Split, Croatia last Saturday. Also present for the presentation was Marin Sarec, assistant chief editor of Sportska Televizija which transmitted the athletics meeting live.
The meeting was won by Blanka Vlasic who, for the first time this year, managed to reach the 2.00 metre height.
Vlasic will be one of the major attractions during the next Athletics World Championships to be held in Daegu, South Korea, in a bid to defend the world title won in Berlin as well as to emulate the 2.05m height reached during the 2010 meeting held last year in Split.
Camenzuli is also the president of Ghaqda Gurnalisti Sport.
