Floriana FC have announced that an agreement has been reached with Marsaxlokk FC regarding the permanent transfer of player Christian Cassar.

The acquisition of Cassar, who signed a four-year contract with the club, is a continuation of the promise made by president Johann Said to bring back players with Floriana roots.

Said thanked everyone involved in making this transfer possible.

Cassar joined the squad that is preparing for the UEFA Europa League commitments yesterday.

Moreover, the Greens have signed an agreement with Joseph Borg to extend his stay at the club for another season.

Cassar and Borg were two fundamental players of the squad that ended last season as FA Trophy winners.

Meanwhile, the Greens fans have selected defender Mano Micallef as the club’s footballer of the year.

Last season, Micallef played 27 of the 28 matches played by the club in the League, scoring one goal. His only absence was in the 1-0 defeat to Sliema W.
