The MFA’s Footballer of the year for season 2010-2011 will be named today during the awards ceremony being held this evening.

Five players had been shortlisted for the award – four of them Valletta FC players - following a preliminary voting which was held last month.

The four Valletta players are Gilbert Agius, Roderick Briffa, Jonathan Caruana and Denni Rocha Dos Santos. The other player is Marsaxlokk’s Gareth Sciberras, now a player of Birkirkara.

During the ceremony, all the other winners in the lower divisions will also be presented with their awards.
