John Guillaumier’s letter entitled “The triumph of secularism” (TMIS, 26 June) reminded me of the wording on a T-shirt popular in the United States. It went like this: ‘God is dead’ – Nietzche. ‘Nietzche is dead’ – God. The name of Voltaire can safely replace that of the German philosopher.
