Malta Shooting Sport Federation shooters will be among 591 shooters from 77 nations taking part in The ISSF World Cup 2011 at Maribor, Slovenia. T

This ISSF World Cup is attracting many shooters to gain an Olympic Quota place for the London 2012 Olympics. Malta has already won a quota place in Double Trap last April when William Chetcuti won the Gold medal at The ISSF Beijing World Cup.

The first event that the Maltese shooters will be participating in is the Men’s Trap event, with 75 clays today and 50 clays tomorrow. The barrage finals will be held tomorrow afternoon with the top six shooters taking part.

In this event, Aquilina Jason John, Cardona Stanley and Vella Stephen will form the Malta Trap team while Cassar George and Deguara Rennie will compete for the MQS.

On Tuesday, in The  Double Trap event, William Chetcuti and Nathan Lee Xuereb will compete on 150 clays and another 50 clays barrage finals in the afternoon.

On Thursday, in the Skeet event, Clive Farrugia will compete on 75 clays and another 50 clays on Friday, with a barrage final of 25 clays on Friday afternoon.

MSSF President Saviour Portelli and MSSF coach Jimmy Bugeja will be accompanying the Maltese shooters in Maribor.
