Mary Fenech Adami will be remembered by Birkirkara, and by Malta, as the person who managed to keep their feet on the ground.

Is-sinjura Mer, as we know her in Birkirkara, never changed. She was always the same straight up, no nonsense woman that we all looked up to.

In times of fear, she was resolute, in times of calm, she dedicated more time to the people she knew and could help. It is easy to describe her – down to earth, full of conviction, ready to help others at a moment’s notice, but also headstrong, dependable and hardworking. We of Birkirkara will miss her. We will miss her both as former First Lady, as well as is-Sinjura Mer who would always stop for a chat at the corner shop.
