Bowling: Okmalta.com Look to make it two titles in a row

Recently crowned MSV Life National League Champions okmalta.com are already back in action, along with nine other top flight teams, hoping to run a second consecutive league campaign, and claim back-to-back titles by the end of the year. After the opening week of the brand new season at the SuperBowl, okmalta.com are tied with Fina in the top spot, both sides having taken all eight against respective opponents HSBC and Ramis.

Okmalta.com bowled an outstanding Div I campaign last time round, leading the pack for much of the eighteen week, two round regular season but going into the final Championship Round a modest four points ahead of rivals Ramis in second (112-108), while the once unbeatable Fina outfit lay in third on 100. Royal Shock also made the championship pool in fourth place on 89 points.

Okmalta.com’s first championship clash was against underdogs Royal Shock, and they steamed to an easy 8-0, while Ramis were beaten by Fina in a 2-6 scoreline, meaning okmalta.com’s lead over Ramis was stretched to ten points (120-110), with a further 16 points still up for grabs.

The final title race was then settled with one week to spare, as okmalta.com picked up the points they needed in their penultimate match, thanks to a 2-6 win against Fina. Ramis also claimed six from their confrontation with Royal Shock, meaning okmalta.com held their ten point advantage, to make the final week’s matched a mere formality. Those ended up with a 6-2 win for the new champs against runners up Ramis, while Royal Shock took a 1-7 victory from a three-man Fina side.

The final league standings were (Championship Pool): okmalta.com-13, Ramis-118, Fina-109, Royal Shock-98.
