The ASA yesterday organised a news conference on the eve of today’s two KO finals which are being played at the Tal-Qroqq national pool.

The first on the card is the Division II KO final at 5pm while the Division I final starts at 6.15pm.

ASA President Joe Caruana Curran said that the association will be organising regular press conferences before important games. The new ASA media co-ordinator Christian Micallef was also presented to the media.

Caruana Curran was flanked by Luke Borg and Joseph Cremona, captains of Ta’ Xbiex and Marsascala meat.com.mt respectively who will be playing in the Division II final.

Micallef said that the association was engaging local artists to provide inter-match entertainment.

Joe Cremona said Marsascala was raring to go after their close tie against Valletta Dhalia adding that the format of the Knock Out was a positive move with the semi finals being played over two legs. He also emphasised the importance of the nursery to the continuing of the game.

Luke Borg said that the Ta’ Xbiex team was totally transformed from last year with a youthful complement, with several new players brought on loan from other clubs.

The Exiles-Neptunes final was also previewed with Exiles captain Timmy Sullivan saying that the first games in the Preliminary Round had exposed certain weaknesses but after a good self examination, the team had recovered to attain First Division status and had also made it to the Knockout final with a historic win over Sliema.

Neptunes captain Nicky Lanzon said that his team had all respect for Exiles and will be approaching the game as if they were playing against the best team on the island.
